INTRODUCING THE STARK VARG SM 2026
The Stark VARG SM 2026 is fully homologated for road use in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and Canada. This means it meets all necessary safety, performance, and environmental standards, allowing you to enjoy your ride on any terrain or street with complete peace of mind. In Europe the Varg requires an A1 driving license however in Spain, Italy, France and Portugal you can also legally ride it with your car license (B), making it even more accessible for new riders or those looking to switch to two wheels.
Your motorcycle will come with a Certificate of Conformity (COC), official proof that it complies with all regulatory requirements. This document streamlines the registration process in most countries, making it easier than ever to get your VARG SM road-ready. For the United States and Canada, we also include a Manufacturer’s Statement of Origin (MSO), ensuring you have everything you need to register your bike. Please note that in some countries local taxes, import duties and any additional costs are not included in the price. These fees must be settled with your local vehicle registration authority before you can obtain your license plates.
Meet the Stark VARG SM, an all-electric Supermoto that blends track-ready performance with daily rideability in a way that might just redefine what street-legal e-motorcycles can be.
Built-in stoke and daily practicality
For all the hardcore specs, the VARG SM still remembers it’s supposed to be fun – and functional. The bike is street-legal in Europe, the US, Australia, and New Zealand, and it’s even A1 license compliant, making it easier for new riders. In some countries, you can legally ride it with just a car license thanks to the near-scooter legal classification. That opens up a whole new category of riders who might’ve written off motorcycles as too complicated, intimidating, or loud. However, it’d definitely be a good idea to take traditional motorcycle training classes before unleashing the higher power end of the VARG SM’s spectrum.
And while it can absolutely play hard, it’s also smartly equipped for the daily grind. You get a walk mode and reverse gear to help in tight spaces, a bar-mounted handbrake option for stunt work or accessibility, and built-in security layers. The LED headlamp punches out 4,000 lumens – which is said to be roughly three times brighter than anything else in its class – and the patent-pending integrated indicators are made from flexible optical silicone to handle everyday abuse without cracking.

BENDING THE RULES
Ultralight, road-legal and relentlessly powerful—with the Stark VARG SM you will own the streets.
Powered by a 7.2kWh battery, a motor delivering 80HP with instant response and a mixed urban riding range of 73 miles, the VARG SM is engineered for limitless rides.
The new 3.3kW charger fits in your backpack and makes it effortless to charge anywhere you go. The Stark VARG SM is impossible to ignore and built to lead the streets with power and presence.
When was the last time you felt you had enough power?
WHEELIE MACHINE
Experience the exceptionally light and agile feeling of the Stark VARG SM. 274lb, 80hp and a drastic reduction in rotational mass compared to a traditional ICE motorcycle makes it a rocketship off the traffic lights and the easiest bike ever to wheelie. Choose the rear handbrake for ultimate control over braking and balancing.
The front brake is a powerhouse of stopping performance with a 320mm front disc and a radially mounted 4-piston monoblock caliper. Together with our in-house developed fork feet and the Kayaba forks you’ll experience braking- and stoppie control like never before.
The fully machined triple clamp with integrated bar mounts saves 9 oz and in combination with our SM-specific chassis geometry it offers just the right balance of stiffness and flex to allow for ultra-precise handling without feeling harsh and rigid. The VARG SM is just as capable on the race track as it is for daily commuting.
Taking it to the streets
Stark Future has taken the motocross and enduro world by storm with its VARG MX and VARG EX, respectively. After dominating in the dirt, the next logical step was to seek out similar success on the streets. What better way to do that than a road-legal SM?
Leveraging its existing MX/EX platform, Stark built its all-electric SM by making key component substitutions. First and foremost, the dirt-oriented 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels make way for a 17-inch wheelset. The SM’s hoops not only sport spokes — for dirt-section detours and trails expeditions — but also accept tubeless tires.

Similar to the MX 1.2, Stark’s supermoto benefits from a fully adjustable 48 mm KYB fork, but it features supermoto-specific settings and slightly less travel (11.4 inches versus 12.2 inches). To deliver “greater steering precision and front-end feel,” Stark also developed a model-specific triple clamp, which yields 16 mm of offset and 205 mm between the fork tubes.

In the braking department, a radially mounted four-piston Brembo Stylema caliper bites a 320 mm wave rotor up front, a clear upgrade over the two-piston binder and 260 mm disc found on the MX and EX. Feeding that new setup is a Brembo 18/21 radial master cylinder.
When equipped with its homologation kit (also sold in Race Spec), the SM brings Stark’s winning formula to the street. The real question is: will that be enough to meet the needs of road riders?

Here for a good time, not a long time
Aside from its chassis revisions, the SM shares much with its off-roading relatives. That includes its 7.2 kWh battery and 360V electric PMAC motor. The combination may produce up to 80 horsepower and 637 foot-pounds of torque (in Alpha trim), but it only achieves 81 kilometers of what Stark calls “real-world range.” For those who only speak in Imperial measurements, that’s 50.3 miles. Such distances may work on motocross circuits or nearby trails, but it’s extremely restricting on the road.
To quell any range anxieties, Stark notes that its 3.3 kW portable charger replenishes the SM’s battery in under two hours. The firm also states that the portable unit is “light enough to fit in a backpack,” but fails to list the device’s actual weight. Given the model’s range limitations, the charger might be a necessity rather than a luxury.
Sure, the VARG SM may boast a race-ready chassis, 80 horsepower, and an Android-based Arkenstone electronics suite, but if you plan to venture even moderate distances from home, this supermoto probably isn’t for you. Starting at $12,900 (Standard variant), Stark’s all-electric SM will face competition from KTM’s 690 SMC-R and Ducati’s Hypermotard 698 Mono. Whether or not the VARG SM appeals to anyone beyond a handful of kart track riders and adrenaline-addicted city commuters remains to be seen.

Stark Future has been batting a thousand up to this point, but the VARG SM could very well be its first swing and miss. By producing road-biased bikes, Stark opens itself to the same criticisms so often aimed at LiveWire, Can-Am, and Zero. Only time will tell if the brand can expand into new territories while maintaining its status as the darling of the electric segment.
